"Living Your Life" is an informative and empowering lifestyle talk show hosted by comedian Kier Spates, Junior, from the Steve Harvey Morning Show, who lives with and thrives despite sickle cell disease. Kier’s co-host is Corey Hebert, MD, an award-winning medical broadcast journalist, research scientist, and author. He serves as faculty at LSU Health Sciences Center and as Chief Medical Officer at Dillard University. The series highlights families and individuals thriving in spite of sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait. Each episode provides positive lifestyle stories and information about sickle cell, health care, physical fitness, travel, healthy eating, sleep, and mental health.

Sickle cell disease is a genetic disorder affecting red blood cells. The inherited condition causes cells to have a “c” shape instead of the typical round appearance. This causes the cells to get stuck and die early, causing a constant shortage in the body as well causing painful crises.

Kier’s guests will be in his studio and attending virtually from around the world to discuss various sickle cell symptoms, severity, and treatment. “Living Your Life” focuses on increasing sickle cell disease awareness and improving patient care.
