Meet The Hosts
Laughing Through My Pain
There are few words to describe the spirit of this Sickle Cell Champion. Kier Spates is living life with Sickle Cell Disease and not allowing it to win. It will not block his dreams and aspirations! Kier is a comedian and actor who can be heard every morning as a co-host on the nationally syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show. You can also hear him every Saturday hosting his radio show on Majic 107.5/97.5 in Atlanta, GA from 10 AM – 2 PM.
After attending Prairie View A&M, Kier soared from comedian, actor to high profile Hollywood writer. He has written on such shows as Steve Harvey Talk Show, Little Big Shots, Steve Harvey’s New Year’s Eve, Miss Universe and was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for his Outstanding Writing Skills.
He founded Kier’s Hope Foundation Incorporated to not only inspire and educate families affected by sickle cell disease by his example but by providing education, programs, services, and funding resources. You are not alone in this fight. Kier’s Hope is here for your support. We are all bound by blood. Together we are “Working to Change the Shape of Sickle Cell Disease.” Every year he celebrates with his annual charity run, which is the first Saturday in June. Kier’s Hope Day in Dallas is a State of Texas Senate Resolution Number 187 in 2019 – Kier’s Hope Sickle Cell Awareness Month.
